6 Apps You Must Have as a Gen Z

If you were born between 1997 and 2012,
you can’t live your life under a rock.

You are a digital-era generation.

And there are these extraordinary apps making life easier, smarter, and faster.

You may not have these exact apps
but at least one app that does the same job should be on your phone.

Let’s go.

1. Jumia (Or Any Online Marketplace)

We shop online — even when we’re not buying online.

Before buying anything, we:

  • Check prices

  • Compare quality

  • Look at reviews

In Africa, Jumia makes this easy.

Even if you end up buying physically,
you still checked at least 3 online sellers first.

That’s Gen Z behavior.

2. A Podcast Player

YouTube is good — but it has a limitation.

When the screen is locked:

  • You can’t listen

  • You waste data

  • You lose focus

At work.
While walking.
While commuting.

That’s where podcast apps come in.

Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and others.

When I tried podcasts, I was convinced on day one.

As a Gen Z, you can’t rely only on:

  • Your uncle

  • Your aunt

  • Or outdated advice

You must learn from the world.

3. Binance (Or Any Crypto App)

I strongly believe every Gen Z should know:

  • How to send crypto

  • How to receive crypto

  • How to convert crypto to local currency

You don’t need to be a trader.

But you need basic crypto literacy.

If you don’t know how, I made a very basic course for beginners here: 👉 https://www.udemy.com/course/binance-app/?referralCode=631D3D2E97257071F6BF

The future is digital money.
Whether we like it or not.

4. YouTube

Work has changed.

Gen Zs have:

  • Multiple interests

  • Creative energy

  • Shiny-object syndrome

Elders say:

“Stick to one thing.”

But look around.

We have:

  • Doctors who sing

  • Nurses who write

  • Engineers who create content

  • Professionals who build brands

The problem?

If you try to do everything at work:

  • You become average

  • Your boss won’t pay you more

So what’s the solution?

👉 Record what you love.
👉 Upload it online.

YouTube.
TikTok.
Facebook.

That’s how you find people who care about what you care about.

It’s not easy.
But that’s why you need YouTube.

5. ChatGPT

Do I really need to explain this?

This app allows you to walk with the wisest minds on earth.

Five years ago:

  • You needed money

  • Connections

  • Time

Just to spend one hour with a wise person.

Now?

Gen Zs don’t need that.

They just need to ask better questions.

Example:

Instead of asking:

“How can I become a good leader?”

Ask:

“Search all Obama’s speeches, writings, and books, and tell me how Obama would advise me to become a good leader — given that I’m African, interested in digital entrepreneurship and education.”

That’s how you use AI.

Be specific to get specific answers.

And yes — you must learn AI.

You can’t avoid it.

What I want to master with AI:

  • AI prompting

  • AI image generation

  • AI video generation

  • AI video editing

  • AI coding

  • AI in crypto

In short: 👉 Using AI to learn, earn, and think faster

6. The Sixth App… You Tell Me

I’ll leave this one to you.

👉 Which app do you think every Gen Z must have?

Comment it.
Share it.
Send this to every Gen Z you know.

Let’s help each other upgrade.

I love you ❤️
